Participants, mainly nationalists and hard core football fans of the Independence Day march are seen at the start of the march in Warsaw, Poland on November 11, 2020. Despite the intention of Independence Day march organizers to hold a parade solely by car several thousand people took part on foot. Onlhy minutes after the start of the traditional march participants calshed with riot police. Rioters threw glass bottles, flower pots and bricks at riot police who responded with pepper spray. An Empik bookstore was vandalised after a large shop window was broken and later rioters threw flares and other objects at an aparment nearby with a rainbow flag on it's balcony. An apartment beneath it caught fire damaging or destroying valuable art works by Polish painter Witkacy.
