Parry Lagoons on the Ord River flood plain in the East KImberley near Wyndham are a RAMSAR-listed wetlands and an important habitat for migratory yellow-flowering shrub is a Kapok Bush (Cochlospermum fraseri), native to north-west Australia and an important tree in Indigenous culture. The flowers are edible and are said to signify the time that freshwater crocodiles lay their eggs.
