The F/A-18 Hornet ('Hornet'in English) is a versatile twin-engine fighter-origin fourth generation with all-weather capability, to be embarked on aircraft carriers. It was developed in 1970 by McDonnell Douglas Company (since 1997 integrated into Boeing) from the Northrop YF-17 prototype for the United States Navy (USN or Navy) and the Marine Corps (USMC). The Hornet has also been exported to seven countries to serve on its air force. Since 1986 is used for aerial acrobatics by the group Blue Angels air show in the Navy.
