The beauty of Bath, Lansdown Crescent, Bath, England
The novelist and art collector William Beckford bought several properties in Lansdown Crescent and Place, Bath, in the 1820s and 30s. Two of the properties were connected by an arch which can be seen in this photograph. Lansdown Crescent itself overlooks central Bath and rivals the Royal Crescent for architectural merit.
