These operations demonstrate NATO cohesion and capability through the combination of elements of Sixth Fleet’s Forward Deployed Naval Forces-Europe, Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 2, and ships of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) as a collective surface action group. The HSTCSG is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to maintain maritime security, and defend allied and partner interest in Europe and Africa.
