In the tracery piecesabove are various devices, including the badge of the regiment, andthe arms of Flower and Orr-Ewing, referring to the deaths ofLieutenant Flower and Major Orr-Ewing, officers of the eight pieces immediately above the four lights contain angelsholding a scroll, on which is inscribed the legend, Be thou faithfulunto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
